Othe Saints of Malankara

Venarating saints and asking their intercession is very much part of Orthodox belief. The Orthodox Church teaches that though the saints have left this world, they continue to pray and worship Triune God for the rest of mankind. This is clearly explained in St.Paul's epistle to Hebrews. Orthodox Church venarates St.Mary the Theotokos, Apostles, Apostolic Fathers, Martyrs who laid their life for our Lord, Teachers who taught us the true faith, Prophets etc.

In Malankara most of the churches are in the name of St.Mary, St.Thomas and St.George. Malankara Church also venarate the holy fathers who dedicated their life to preserve the Orthodox faith in India. They include
