Examinations |
- The academic year is divided into two semesters. At the end of each semester there shall be some days of study leave to prepare for examinations.
- The Faculty council shall fix the number of minimum class days including days of study leave and examinations.
- Examinations shall be conducted at the end of each semester and it shall be not only on the basis of lectures given in the class, but also based on the literature related to the subject assigned for private and personal study.
- The students shall be present for examinations at the appointed times. Any change in the timetable of examinations will be allowed by the Principal, only for serious reasons, in consultation with the Registrar, Dean of Studies and the teachers concerned.
- The normal course for G.S.T. diploma is the same as that for B.D. Degree of Serampore College. But, in addition to completing successfully the course in the Seminary including examinations and thesis, students will be required to appear for and pass in the comprehensive examinations of the Serampore University, and the B.D. degree will be awarded to them by the Serampore University.
- A minimum of 40% of marks is required to pass in any subject and a separate minimum is needed for examination (30%) and internal assessment (10%) in each subject. Marks will be awarded out of total of 100 as follows:

Re- Examinations
If anyone fails in a subject, he shall pay Rs.50/- to the office of the Registrar and apply for re-examination. Re-examinations shall be conducted together with the examinations of the following semester. The reexaminations that are deferred for other reasons shall be conducted at the time fixed by the Principal in consultation with the Registrar, Dean of Studies and the teacher concerned. Further, only pass mark will be awarded for the re-examination. Exceptions will be made to this rule if the student has been absent from the examinations on medical and other unavoidable reasons. |
